A whisper travels on the breeze, a tale spun from sugary lies and tangled truths. It speaks of a current, its waters glinting with the temptation of ecstasy. But within its depths lurks a shadow, a deceptive lure that promises wealth at the cost of souls. They say those who fall in its current are forever lost by the river's power, their lives forever twisted into a desolate melody.
The Great Molasses Flood
On January 15th, 1919, Boston experienced a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with molasses burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that raged through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was horrifying. Buildings were flattened under the weight of the treacherous goo.
